Redesign Export Options in Settings Menu

The Task:
Redesign a poorly worded export options menu on a settings page for a website and change it to be more user-friendly and improve the user interface

The Problems

  • The export options settings page is full of technical jargon.

  • The design is janky and the copy is inconsistent and all over the place.

  • The interface is not user friendly and cognitive load inducing.

How I solved the problems

  • Made the copy user-friendly and more approachable

  • Removed unnecessary technical jargon

  • Made the copy sound user-centric instead of robotic/stiff

  • Used tooltips instead of brackets to present additional information (dialogue box will be shown when the cursor is hovered over the tooltip icon)

  • Improved on the design a little bit

  • Less text leads to more empty space hence making the screen more pleasant to view (aesthetically pleasing)
